Sheila works well with colleagues, communicating effectively and demonstrating flexibility when unforeseen circumstances arise. She manages priorities effectively, which can be challenging when problems with digital resources can surface at any moment and asked for input appropriately when she required clarification.
Sheila brought her project management expertise and experience to her work on the Decolonizing Description Project which allowed it to make hugs strides in a short period of time. The amazingly successful Making meaning Symposium, which was all Sheila's from conception to follow up, is evidence to her skill in organizing, planning, and keeping people and projects on time and on task.
Sheila's PM skills were a big factor in the success of this project. She participated in interviewing, note taking, data analysis, coding/themes identification and general research data management. Sheila is a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend her for any future PM opportunities.
Sheila distanced coached our low literacy, Indigenous students through an entire semester of research skills. Students had virtually no research or academic writing experience, but Sheila's coaching raised grades from a 44% average to a 71% average while also increasing confidence. Sheila has a rare skill set, the capacity to address immediate challenges while teaching clients the skills to prevent future crisis.
